Hello, Bloomingdale!
This is my first blog post for patch.com. My name is Heather Flanagan and I am a nurse practitioner for Dr. Donna Bridge in Brandon.
I have spent the last three years assisting in the diagnosis and care of women with breast cancer (and a few men, too). Through conversations with my wonderful patients, I began to realize they were overwhelmed with their breast cancer diagnosis. Many of them felt like they were trying to make a decision amid a whirlwhind of activity.
I decided to create a website to help alleviate the burden of finding factual, easy-to-read breast cancer information. Please check out www.mybreastcanceranswers.com to find helpful, factual information and handy, printable checklists to take to your doctor's appointments.
My Breast Cancer Answers helps to make you become your own advocate by arming you with knowledge, so you can ask the questions you need to ask to have a meaningful discussion with your physician. The site also offers a chat forum with many different, pertinent discussion boards for whatever you are going through in your breast cancer journey. Keep your eye out for more informative blog posts with topics ranging from nutrition/fitness to going green, to free products/product reviews. Let's fight the good fight together, ladies!

Heather Flanagan, ARNP-C
