The Business of Being Born is a 2008 documentary which focuses upon the current state of childbirth in the United States.  It is fantastic film which dives "behind the scenes", exploring the practices of mid-wives, doctors, hospitals, and birth centers.     

 Is childbirth a medical emergency or a natural occurrence?  Are procedures done because they are necessary or to save time?  Why are many doctors and hospitals scheduling a la carte deliveries?  These questions and many other are examined and discussed in the film.       

As a chiropractor who has taken care of many expecting mothers I would highly recommend this film to anyone who may be going through the wonderful process of childbirth.
