Border security is a matter of national security.

Well, our dictator and chief has done it again. He has now bypassed congress and ordered border patrol agents to release illegals after catching them. If that were not bad enough, he is then going to issue them work permits so that they can legally work in the US. So, how does that make the unemployed in this country feel about being able to find work in the near future? This is outrageous! Not that it is surprising coming from him, but the timing is suspect. All of his talk of putting Americans back to work, and he is going to add illegals into the mix, when there is already a lack of available jobs. But, I think that one point has been overlooked by the media in regards to border security, is the safety of our land and citizens, from not only the violence of drug cartels, but terrorism. If the average mexican immigrant, can cross the border with such ease, and not even be deported, how hard would it be for Al Quaida, or Hamas, to fly someone into Mexico where the security is more lax, and then have them move across the border, only to be stopped by border security, then released and given permission to stay. How does this maintain national security? Allowing these people to break the law, while looking the other way, is not only damaging to our economy, it puts our country's safety and security at risk. All of this, so that our current president can rack up a few more votes before November. I don't think that it Is going to be enough.

What is it like to be so afraid all the time?

I would rather be informed and afraid, than bury my head in the sand and ignore the truth.

Our borders are no more and no less secure than they have been since 9/11/2001. If Al Qaeda wanted to enter the US via our porous borders, they have had free rein for 11 years. Al Qaeda achieved its goal of suckering us into senseless, prolonged, resource-depleting misadventures in Afghanistan and Iraq with a simple, relatively inexpensive operation on 9/11 that cost them 19 lives and less than $500,000. They have no need of sneaking into the United States. Al Qaeda is not now and never was an existential threat to this country. The fact that the US Government never secured the borders readily convinced me that the GWOT was a joke and that OIF and OEF were mere scams to drain the US Treasury for the benefit of defense contractors and oil companies. One does not become "informed and afraid;" indeed, one informs himself to dispel fear. You have my sincere sympathy for your fearful state of mind.
