Mentors Muscles located in Valrico opened in February. Owner Chris Mentor wants to promote healthy lifestyles in a private studio atmosphere.

Mentor says, “There’s only one of you, so take care of yourself.”

Mentor has developed weight training and nutritional programs for an array of clients including sports teams, military units, rehab patients and clients off the street.

Mentor, who also specializes in rehabilitation for head trauma and catastrophic injury patients, has more than a decade of experience. Using programs like calisthenics, isometrics, training and boot camps, Mentor tries to transform his client’s bodies and meet their physical goals.

“I include and treat all my clients as friends and as a part of my family as well as me being part of theirs,” said Mentor. “I’m very honest and upfront and not motivated by money. If there isn’t a way I personally can help, I’ll usually recommend someone that can.

Mentor has created the M.E.N.T.O.R. Challenge (Motivating Exercise Necessary To Obtain Results).

The challenge is a complement to weight-training activity. Each session is planned to get the most out of a client's body without reaching exhaustion. Participants encourage one another throughout the entire session.

The cost ranges from $20 to $70, depending on the type of sessions desired and the time of the session.
