New Details in Riverview Teacher's Relationship With Student

Chung Ramos, 29, initially denied any sexual relationship with the 18-year-old student, TBO.com reports.

New details have emerged in a teacher's alleged sexual relationship with an 18-year-old student, TBO.com reports.

Chung Ramos, 29, admitted earlier this month and resigned from her position.

But investigative documents released Tuesday by the Hillsborough County school district and cited by TBO show that the social studies teacher at first denied any sexual relationship with the student, who is not being named by the media to protect his privacy.

When the relationship first came to light in early May, Ramos told administrators she never spent time outside the classroom with her students, TBO reports.

But eventually Ramos admitted she had been to a movie with the teenager and that they "messed around with each other" in her classroom. "And when a district official asked what happened when the teenager came to her house, she said, 'Unfortunately, we had sex,' " TBO reports.

Officials learned of the affair when a school district employee saw a text message that made reference to the relationship. An ex-girlfriend of the male student confronted Ramos through a Facebook message, according to the report.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said it decided not to pursue charges against Ramos because the student was not underage.
