Firefighters Think Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

The Pink Heals Tour will visit Moffitt Cancer Center today.

Guardians of The Ribbon, dressed in pink fire gear, are driving pink fire trucks across the country to help raise awareness and money for the nonprofit entities that help support women who are healthy and those in their fight against cancer.

The Guardians of The Ribbon will make a stop in Tampa today at the Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute at the University of South Florida from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3.

The goal of the Guardians of The Ribbon is to spread the "Cares Enough to Wear Pink" campaign until everyone is in pink shirts.

Dave Graybill, founder of the Pink Heals Tour, is not your average fireman.  A former major league baseball player and Olympic athlete, Graybill has done many things in his life that most others have only dreamed of. He never had any cancer issues in his family, but a co-worker's struggle with the disease was what got him started.

"One day I had an epiphany. I asked my self, what if we as men started fighting cancer and standing up for our women?" said Graybill. And the
Pink Heals Tour was born. Today, the Pink Heals Tour has visited more than 1,000 cities and the pink trucks are decorated with more than 40,000 signatures from women who have survived cancer.
