Jeanie, a 7-year-old shih tzu, is fighting for her life after being left home alone for two weeks.

Someone was supposed to drop by and give the dog food and water while the owner was gone, but never did. When the owner returned, Jeanie was near death. She was taken to a veterinarian but the owner couldn't afford treatment so opted to have her euthanized.

However, Florida Little Dog Rescue came to her rescue and sent her to a veterinary hospital where Jeanie continues to fight for her life.

The rescue group is now seeking funds to offset Jeanie's medical expenses.

Florida Little Dog Rescue is a nonprofit group that rehabilitates unwanted, abused and abandoned little dogs and places them in loving and responsible homes.
