Bloomingdale High Student's Work Takes 1st Place at Art Show in Brandon
Austin Arkin's "Major 7" won first place in the 2-Dimensional category at the High School Student Art Show at Center Place, while two Bloomingdale classmates won honorable mention.
A Bloomingdale High student's work took home a first-place award recently at the High School Student Art Show, on display this month at the Phillip G. Mook Art Gallery at the Center Place Fine Arts & Civic Association in Brandon.
Austin Arkin's piece, "Major 7," finished first in the "2-Dimensional" category.
The show exhibits both 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional works of art along with photography.
Two other Bloomingdale students, Andrea Sharp and April Showalter, garnered honorable mentions and were among the 15 students who won awards at the art show. Durant High's Alexandria Leon won the Center Place Award for her piece, "Peculiar Trinket."
