Berenstain Bears to Visit Winthrop Publix
On Saturday, June 16, the Winthrop Publix in Riverview will hold a Sprout TV event featuring the Berenstain Bears.
Children will have a chance to get up close and personal with the Berenstain Bears when the Winthrop Publix, 11109 Winthrop Market St., Riverview, hosts a PBS Kids Sprout TV event Saturday, June 16 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This is part of a fundraising campaign running now through June 28. Florida Publix locations are helping to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network by teaming up with Florida-based Produce for Kids to host the annual Get Healthy, Give Hope campaign.
On Saturday at the Winthrop Publix, Sprout TV will be on hand to showcase the fundraiser, the latest Produce for Kids recipes and the Berenstain Bears cartoon series seen on Sprout TV.
Based on the best-selling book series, "The Berenstain Bears" is an animated comedy celebrating furry family values and good old-fashioned bear country living. The fun-loving family of bears show love, loyalty and humor to overcome any obstacle.
For those who cannot make the in-store party, shoppers can continue to contribute to the Get Healthy, Give Hope campaign by adding produce to their Publix shopping lists. The more produce in the shoppers’ cart, the more hope they can give to children in the area.
During the Get Healthy, Give Hope campaign, Publix will offer shoppers collectible Produce for Kids’ Ideal Meals – quick and healthy meal ideas, which are free and can be found in displays featuring LazyTown characters from the popular, health-focused, children’s series airing exclusively in the U.S. on 24-hour preschool television channel, Sprout.
Ideal Meals offer shoppers chef-created, nutritionist-approved easy solutions for breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert. Featuring fresh fruits and vegetables as the main ingredients, Ideal Meals are great for busy families who crave fast meal options that don’t require stopping at the local drive-thru.
Produce for Kids encourages healthy eating among families by providing simple, healthy meal solutions and resources for parents, while raising funds for local children’s non-profit organizations.
Since its creation in 2002 by Shuman Produce Inc., Produce for Kids has raised more than $3.7 million for children’s nonprofit organizations including Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, Let’s Move Salad Bars To Schools and PBS KIDS, among others. All funds raised directly benefit these partner organizations.
