- Survived by: He was cherished by his wife of 48 years, Sarah; his daughters, Sarah “Lisa” and Scott Marrs and their sons, Sam and Tom, Kim and Vinny LoPresti, and Amy and Jerry Porter and their children, Jerret and Ella; brothers, Bobby, James and Norman.
William R. Akery was born Aug. 14, 1943, and passed July 30.
“Billy Boy” lived for his family. He graduated from Hillsborough High School in ’61 and retired from Sears after 27 years. He was witty, spoke Valrican and looked forward to lunch dates with friends. He enjoyed time spent outside, fishing, birding, woodworking and gardening, especially with his grandchildren. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
There will be a visitation on Thursday, Aug. 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug. 3 at 10 a.m. at Serenity Meadows. He will be laid to rest at Pelote Cemetery.
