The Hillsborough County Guardian ad Litem Program is now allowing volunteers to be "Courtesy Visitors." After training, these guardians visit a foster child each month and report the observations only (no court duties).

Thanks to the Courtesy Visitors, the Guardian ad Litem program supervisor can follow up with any issues that are reported and the GAL attorney can effectively represent the needs and wants of the child in court.

January training is scheduled for Bloomingdale Regional Library, 1906 Bloomingdale Ave., Valrico. Volunteers will be certified as Courtesy Visitors in three classes. Training is Saturday, Jan, 5, 12 and 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
